An ICC is the minimum qualification required in Spain for
a UK national, driving a boat in Spanish waters.
As you may have seen in the press there have been a
number of fake certificates issued in the Mediterranean. If you are in any doubt about the validity of your
certificate call the RYA who can check your certificate. Alternatively talk to Charles, principal of a local
sea school and he will help you. Call him on 0034 627 028 943. The Guardia Civil are fully aware of the various
forgeries and fakes and are becoming increasingly more
diligent in their checking of skippers qualifications.
Should you be unfortunate to have an invalid certificate, we
would be pleased to discuss arranging an ICC examination. Examinations after you have been stopped by the
Guardia will not get you off the hook!
